HKK Success At The EKF Kyu Grade Championships

Writer: Simon MillsSimon Mills

Hi everyone,

I wanted to give you an update from the weekend. Our young HKK squad represented our association at the EKF Kyu Grade National Championships, and it was a tough event with so much talent on display. Our team did an amazing job and showed great determination, skill, focus, and teamwork.

Because of their hard work, we finished 5th on the medal table out of 44 teams! We had 6 new national champions: Aidan S, Jada O, Laarbi, Cedric, Inaya, and Aiden W. We also earned 3 silver medals from Lorena K, Amariah O, and Josiah O, and 8 bronze medals from Lorena K, Aidan S, Harleen P, Avleen P, Sarthak S, and our teams: Freya, Amariah, Aleya, Aidan, Josiah, Hadi, Rhys, Nya, Avleen, and Sanaya.

A special shoutout to Cedric for his great performance; he has been invited to try out for the National Kata Squad! We all wish him the best of luck.

Some of our great performances didn't lead to the results we hoped for this time, but with your continued effort, the medals and titles will come. We are proud of all of you and can't wait to celebrate your successes at the next open HKK squad training session.

A huge thank you to all the parents and coaches for your support and for helping get the students to practice over the weeks and years. These fantastic moments wouldn’t be possible without you. Also, a big thank you to Senseis Sam and Max for all their coaching.

Best regards,

Sensei Jerome

HKK Squad Manager
