LIÈGE INTERNATIONAL OPEN – BELGIUM – 4th OCTOBER 2025
This is a well-known, top-level tournament where our athletes have the chance to earn national points by finishing on the podium.
Both Myla and Inaya fought with incredible grit, and they should take a lot from today’s experience. Competing at this level abroad is really important for their growth and future success. It helps them understand where they are on their journey to major titles as they prepare for the WKF Youth League tournament this December.
The girls threw some great combos, but unfortunately, the points didn’t go their way this time. It was inspiring to see them both push themselves, and I know they’ll be back in the dojo ready to make the necessary changes for future tournaments.
I’m very proud of both of you and can’t wait to see you back in the dojo as we start preparing for the next event.

ELITE OPEN INTERNATIONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP – HARLOW – 12th OCTOBER 2025

KML Academy came out on top with 30 medals – 14 gold, 4 siler and 3 bronze!
We took a team to the elite international open tournament this weekend, where teams from Romania, Nepal, Luxembourg, and Ukraine were also competing. Our team was amazing, winning 14 gold medals and topping the medal table! We won the overall club title for the third time in a row with a total of 30 medals out of 47 places.
Thanks to all the parents, coaches, and athletes for your support and for helping the kids stay consistent with training.
Well done, everyone!

NEXT UP – DUTCH OPEN
Our HKK squad members are truly inspirational! Each one puts in so much effort behind the scenes to be their best when representing Higashi. Tournaments, dojo classes, and extra kata and kumite courses are all key to their success. We’re really grateful to the parents and guardians who bring them to training and travel to tournaments around the world.
Next up is the Dutch Open, and I hope all Higashi clubs will support our KML Open tournament on Sunday, November 30th. We’re stronger when we support each other and celebrate our efforts.
I look forward to seeing you all at the next HKK Open squad session on Sunday, November 9th.
